I Googled It

New supermarkets are now the one stop shop for all your needs. Along with buying groceries your able to get clothes, oil for your car, video games, gardening tools or concert tickets. The older grocery stores like the one I work in, have only the essential items. We get calls all the time from customers asking if we carry certain items and when we tell them we don’t we get some backlash for it.

Ring! Ring! Ring!

Me: It’s your neighborhood supermarket, how many I help you?

Google Girl: Hey, you guys sell concert tickets right?

Me: I’m sorry, we don’t but the store on Division does.

Google Girl: Oh, can I get the number to that?

Currently our store is busy and I answered the phone from the checkstand.

Me: I’m sorry, I can’t. I’m currently in the checkstand and our directory is in the office.

Google Girl: You can’t put me on hold or get someone to get it?

Me: We would love to help you but we’re busy at the moment.

Google Girl: If you would love to help then you would get me the number. How hard is it to get a number?

I’m beginning to grow impatient…

Me: Well how did you get this number?

Google Girl: I Googled it…

Me:

  • Chris
